Quantum Australia Explores Sapporo’s Innovation Ecosystem

In January 2026, Sapporo City was honored to welcome Ms. Pauline Woo from Quantum Australia, a global leader in the field. Coordinated by the STEP (Sapporo Transnational Expansion and Partnership) team, the visit featured a series of highly productive meetings with Sapporo City, the Hokkaido Prefectural Government, universities, and regional innovation organizations.

Throughout the visit, discussions centered on ecosystem development, advanced technologies, and practical opportunities for international collaboration. Ms. Woo shared valuable insights into Quantum Australia’s approach to early investment and inclusive growth. In return, the dialogue highlighted regional Japan’s proactive role in critical and emerging technologies. Ms. Woo expressed a highly positive outlook on Sapporo’s openness to learning and engaging beyond traditional metropolitan centers, noting that the city’s approach is both refreshing and promising.
