Exploring Ecosystems in Taiwan: A Delegation from the City of Sapporo Visits NYCU IAPS

On July 2nd and 3rd, our delegation from the City of Sapporo, alongside the Sapporo Electronics and Industries Cultivation Foundation and the Sapporo Transnational Expansion and Partnership (STEP) team, had the privilege of visiting the Center of Industry Accelerator and Patent Strategy at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU IAPS) in Taiwan.

During this two-day exchange, we had the opportunity to learn about the impressive innovation support ecosystem developed by NYCU’s Office of Industry-Academia Co-creation (OIAC) and its startup support organization, IAPS, which seamlessly connects research commercialization, startup acceleration, and industry collaboration. 

What made this visit truly exceptional was the shared, action-oriented mindset between our regions. We came away from these deep and meaningful discussions with genuine confidence in our mutual vision. We have identified concrete initiatives to pursue together, and the meetings clearly highlighted the strong potential for synergy between Taiwan and Sapporo’s growing tech and research hubs.

Together with STEP and our local partners, the City of Sapporo is committed to building on this momentum to contribute to a better society—swiftly and with real impact. We look forward to creating new, cross-border opportunities for startups, researchers, and industry partners in both regions.
