Support for Site Visits to Sapporo
Overview
A partial subsidy available to cover the expenses of visiting Sapporo City, for international companies considering expansion into the area.
Who can apply?
- Companies established outside of Japan.
- Companies with their primary business location outside of Japan where 50% or more of shares or capital is held by non-Japanese companies or individuals.
- Japanese companies where 50% or more of shares or capital is held by non-Japanese companies or individuals.
How much could
I be eligible
for?
Up to 500,000 JPY (3.2k USD) per company.
(Based on an exchange rate of 1 USD = 154 JPY)
How do I apply?
You must first fill out an Eligibility Application and be accepted as an eligible company before you make your Subsidy Application. All applications can be submitted online and in English. When do I apply?
You may submit your application at any time prior to your visit to Sapporo. The processing time for approval is approximately three weeks.
What do I need to prepare?
- A scan of your passport.
- Documents detailing the purpose of your visit, and an itinerary.
- If you are applying as a company, a document proving your company registration, and a document providing an overview of the company.
- If you are applying as an individual, an identity card.
- Receipts or other documents showing payment of subsidizable expenses.
What you can do
and cannot do
You can:
- Spend the subsidy on the following:
- Temporary accommodation: Accommodation expenses for an initial site visit to Sapporo.
- Interpretation: The cost of arranging for an interpreter(s) to accompany you on your initial site visit to Sapporo.
- Transport: Travel expenses from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo City and its surrounding area.
You cannot:
- Reimburse travel expenses (e.g. airfare).
- Reimburse expenses for which you do not have a receipt or proof of purchase.
- Apply for this subsidy if your company is registered as a corporation in Sapporo.
